FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES
The Robin's Nest provides a loving Christian environment for a child's first school experience. The classroom environment is carefully structured to enhance your child's spiritual, cognitive, social, physical, and creative growth. The classroom routine encourages active involvement, meaningful experimentation, and development of self-reliance. Developmentally-appropriate activities emphasize process rather than product, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment for each child. The goal of our program is to increase the child's confidence and self-esteem, to provide for peer socialization, and to prepare the child for kindergarten.
LICENSING
The Robin's Nest is fully licensed (C000846) and our staff is certified by the Pinellas County License Board for Children's Centers and Family Day Care Homes. The school is Gold Seal accredited by the United Methodist Association of Preschools, Florida Conference.
ADMISSION OPEN TO ALL
The Robin's Nest is open to children of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, and religious background. The children enjoy the privilege of attending chapel on a weekly basis. Christian education is interwoven into the total school program. The Christian attitude of the staff helps to develop the child's knowledge and understanding of God, Jesus, the Bible, the Church, and themselves as children of God.
BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The Robin’s Nest offers a place for children who are two through four years old on or before September 1 of the current school year. All children in the three and four year old classes must be toilet-trained.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
The children in the Two's, Three's and Four's attend music class every week. The music teacher presents a lesson that teaches age-appropriate concepts of tone recognition, mood, notation, and rhythm through songs, games, and exercises that are fun for the children. The music enrichment program fosters the development of the child's listening and group cooperation skills.
The 3's and 4's are offered an optional extended "Lunch Bunch" program on a regular basis. Children may bring their lunches and stay until 2:00 p.m. for an extra fee. This program helps the child prepare for the longer day in kindergarten and to use lunch manners in a large group situation. A story-time, creative activities, and playtime are also included.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
We are dedicated to the emotional, social, spiritual, and educational growth of the pre-school child. We promise to work with you to provide a positive, nurturing school experience for your child.
PRESCHOOL CLASS DESCRIPTION TERRIFIC TWOs: Two-day T/Th classes emphasizing play and social interaction are offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Student/teacher ratio is 12/2 per class. This program provides the children with the opportunity to explore and foster independence in a nurturing environment. The class also provides the child with the opportunity to develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, spiritually, and physically, with an emphasis on play and socialization.
